We had our first "in person" Board meeting in over a year on May 24th. A lot of things were discussed, however, the most important decision made was to start dancing again on June 19th. Hooray! We were going to start off with our Anniversary Ball, but decided to save that special occasion for another time. In the past, we have had only one dance in the months of July, August and September. That will still be the case for July and it will be held on the 17th with Bill Dimmitt providing the music. We talked about having two dances in August and September this year. The jury is still out as we are going to wait and see how the next two dances go first. It was also decided to continue to follow the current CDC guidelines. We couldn't quite decide if we had the right to request proof of vaccination and so decided to rely on the "honor" system and ask that all non-vaccinated attendees wear a mask. We will be practicing social distancing by allowing only 6 people per table. That should give enough room for each person to feel safe. Also, we won't be having mixer dances, serving snacks or asking people to rotate during the lesson. These three things really enhance our dances, so we are hoping we can start doing them again soon.
Now that we're dancing again, this is the place you want to come back to often so you can read about and see photos of all the fun we have been having. It is also the place to learn about special events (see below) and other dancing opportunities in our area as they develop.
